    I agreed to run for a second term to complete the projects I started and updating processes for the foundation. PNAAF and PNAA have collaborated in several grants and fundraising projects to advance the vision, mission and goals of both organizations and its constituents.

    Almost 2 years ago, an esteemed PNAAF leader approached me if I am interested to share my knowledge and skills with PNAAF. I admit my experience with a foundation is very limited. However, I have robust experience in Hospital Governing Boards. I thought to myself that this will give me an opportunity to gain experience in a foundation. What are possible contributions to PNAA Foundation. I have a plethora of leadership and service experience and enjoyed the responsibilities that came with it. Leadership Development, Project Management, Policy Advocacy, Governance, Financial Stewardship Strategic Planning, Performance Improvement just to name a few. My years of experience as a Nurse Executive will serve as my pillar in my role as Assistant Secretary, which includes computer literacy, minute taking, organizing activities, coordinating meetings and assisting the Secretary. If elected, I will serve in this position to the best of my ability and to ensure that PNAAF stays committed to achieving its aspirations and positive results.

    I have been an active member / officer if the PNAA / PNAAF Executive board since 2006. I possess leadership skills, experienced nurse leader in the administrative / Executive position for more than 35 years of nursing and held 13 departments successfully hurt with the assistance of my Adm Secretary for 7 years as the Director of Patient Care Services:


    I am very passionate and like to challenge tasks that will assist our PNAA organization to excel , I’ve been a role model and led and mentor more than 13 Nurse Managers in my career; a change agent- and I lad by sample,,,

    Current Projects:

    Created 6 modules on "Mindful Movement on Activities of Daily Living" through the Yale University School of Medicine Geriatric Department COACH 4M GWEP program Funded by HRSA. We filmed in May, completed the voiceover in June- getting edited to be distributed to be evaluated by "activity director." The 15-20 minutes per module will be rolled to both SNF and the community to be utilized. The plan is to make it accessible in Vimeo and Youtube

    Personal Statement regarding possible contributions to PNAA Foundation:

    I believe in the overall mission of the PNAA Foundation. My humble contribution to the Foundation mostly involves continuous commitment to financial support. Attendance in the regular meeting of the Officers and Executive Board does not always agree with my work calendar, however, I find ways to fill-in with the issues and the project of the foundation. I serve in the various humanitarian committee projects such as the medical mission. As Max Depree claims, “The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant”. Currently, I have been in the quiet zone due to the impact of pandemic on students’ performances in the licensing exams. I am part of the team mandated to plan strategically with the goal of improving NCLEX passing rate. PNAA Foundation will continue to be my charity of choice to support both financially and in kind in the form of my servant leadership. A viable team consists not only of productive innovative leaders but also proficient followers. I am an excellent follower, that is my expertise, I follow the leaders (plans or instructions). God bless us all, and to God be the Glory.

    I’m interested in running for the position of a Trustee. My purpose is to serve PNAAF where I can contribute best with my expertise as a clinician, educator and informaticist.

      • Attended PNAAF Collaborative Conference in Davao City, Philippines January 28, 2019 Provided 200+ hours in Community Service during my term as President of PNA New England in collaboration with local community organizations by providing various services such as first aid, health & wellness prevention activities such as handwashing and cancer initiatives
      • Chaired Education Committee from 2012 to present. Provided at least 15-30 Continuing Education Conferences yearly

    I am a dynamic and passionate focused nursing professional with proven experience in delivering quality care, creative leadership with an effort to deliver the best care service and with community relationships in an effort to help improve quality of life thru community service projects. I am semi retired and have has 30years of combined experiences in hospital and ambulatory field of nursing. My expertise came from working in various departments such as geriatrics, medical-surgical, cardiac telemetry, medical procedures, labor and delivery, clinical research, hematology –oncology and medicine-pediatrics comprehensive care. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at St. Paul College of Manila, and MSN on Administration and management with active RN license and PHN certificate from California BRN. My passion for service goes outside the doors of healthcare institutions. Graduating BSN with community leadership recognition has been the flying start of my commitment to various community services and leadership. My awareness and desire to promote quality of life is reflected on all diverse community volunteer participations I do. In summary, as catholic certified volunteer for Cathedral Of Our Lady of Angels, leadership council member at Los Angeles Downtown Women’s Center, community outreach chair for Philippine Nurses Association of Southern California (PNASC) , annual medical mission volunteer thru The Philippine Medical Association of Southern California. I can possibly contribute to PNAAF with creative projects . I currently serve as president for PNASC West LA subchapter.

    This is my first Term of Office as a Board member. I have participated in revising the PNAAF By-Laws and Policies and Procedures. I am in the Education Committee and actively participates in the educational planning within the environmental constraints. As Chair of the Research and Grants Committee, I participate in obtaining grants and overseeing outcomes as required. I have participated and attended in all PNAAF Meetings and submitted reports as required. I am looking for another opportunity to serve another term.

    I have been involved with the PNAA for several years and want to have a larger impact on its future. The PNAA//PNAAF specific causes are important to me and I want to be active in supporting it. Being a board member would allow me to learn new skills or practice current ones. I want the opportunity to network with like-minded or otherwise interesting people since I have the time to commit to a meaningful activity. I also want to add fun to my life and working with a team “doing good” would accomplish that.
